The IUF will hold a global meeting for affiliated unions representing employees of the Coca-Cola system (The Coca-Cola Company, its anchor bottlers and franchisees).

The meeting will take place in New York City, USA, on 3-4 March 2003 at facilities provided by Local 6 of the IUF-affiliated Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees (HERE). Participants will stay at the nearby Milford Plaza Hotel in Downtown Manhattan. Reduced room rate will be available at the hotel at USD 99 plus taxes per night. Agenda and other details of the meeting will be posted later.

The principal purpose of the meeting is to advance the IUF's strategy aimed at building a strong trade union rights and union bargaining base for IUF affiliates within the Coca-Cola system. A limited amount of funds will be available to subsidize delegates from Coca-Cola unions in developing countries.

We also hope to organise follow-up meetings in 2003 on Coca-Cola in Africa, Asia/Pacific and Latin America, and these will be discussed at the New York meeting.
