August 9 - International Day of Solidarity with Imprisoned Iranian Workers

International trade unions are calling for an international day of action on August 9 at Iranian diplomatic missions worldwide in solidarity with imprisoned union leaders Mahmoud Salehi and Mansour Osanloo.

The IUF secretariat will be participating in activities planned for Geneva on that day, and we encourage IUF affiliates around the world to join with their national centres or to otherwise organze activities to highlight the continued detention of our Iranian colleagues and press for their immediate release. Actions of this sort have succeeded in putting effective pressure on the Iranian government in the past - your activity could make a difference.
