Stalemated wage negotiations at Nestle South Africa were resolved on 14 January 2005 after 200 employees marched to the Nestle headquarters in Randburg to hand over a memorandum to management. The agreement followed a contract campaign conducted by FAWU that included a short warning strike (background).

The marchers came from Nestl plants in Harrismith,Longmeadow,Babelegi and Standerton to take part in the demonstration. The final settlement included a 6.6% salary increase and the satisfactory resolution of other union demands including union rights.
