IUFUniting Food, Farm and Hotel Workers World-Wide IUF at the World Social Forum 2005

The 5th World Social Forum (WSF) will be held this year from January 26-31 in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. The IUF will be represented by project coordinator Ariel Celiberti from the IUF Latin American Regional Secretariat. A schedule of events organized with the participation of IUF Latin America is available on the IUF Latin America web site.
International trade union events at the forum include
- the 4th Trade Union Forum entitled �The Future of the International Trade Union Movement�, organized by the ICFTU, ETUC and WCL. This event will start prior to the WSF on the afternoon of January 25 and continue the morning of January 26 at the Teatro Carmen Silva (Avenida Frederico Mentz 1561, Navegantes).
- a conference on the Social Dimension of Globalization to discuss the conclusions of the World Commission report on the Social Dimension of Globalization, to take place on January 27 in Space 6 of the WSF.
- the march for employment, social justice and sustainable development organized by the International Metalworkers' Federation and its Brazilian affiliates CNM-CUT and CNTM/For�a Sindical beginning at 5:00 PM on Saturday January 29 The meeting point for the rally will be outside the Praia de Belas shopping centre in Porto Alegre.
